It’s that time of year again, everyone is emerging from their winter hibernations to put on something nice and share a special evening with a special someone.
I admitted in last year’s Valentine’s Day letter that I’m a secret romantic and this is my favorite holiday. The colors, the motifs, the sentiment, I love it all.
So whether it’s with a loved one, your bestie, or yourself, don’t let the day pass you by. Get some flowers and chocolates, eat a decadent meal, watch a romcom, write a love letter, light a candle, share a kiss.
What I’m reading: In my first letter of the new year, I set the admittedly easy goal of reading five books this year, and I’ve already started making my way through that goal and am now on my third book of the year.
I started with Circe (loaned to me by my friend Mercedes), then read They’re Going to Love You (recommended by Kate and Callie), and am now making my way through The Valley of the Dolls (on loan from Brianna).
Each story is entirely different from the other, but all centered around women and belonging. I highly recommend you add them to your reading lists!
What I’m shopping for: While we are nowhere near spring in New York, I do acknowledge that other parts of the country are having bright, sunny days as we speak (I hate you, btw). But if you’re looking to incorporate springy elements into your cold-weather wardrobe, I have just the thing for you.
Keyword search: Austrian sweaters. Identifiable by their colorful trims and embroidery, little baubles and bows, girly collars, and lots of texture.
forest green and pink sweater (small), cornflower blue and brown vest (small), lilac scalloped sweater (small), blue and burgundy sweater (medium), baby pink sweater (medium), heart patch sweater (medium/large), pink and green popcorn sweater (large), rusty red sweater (large)
What I’m watching: Here are some movies I recommend you watch this Valentine’s Day. They’re not all about romantic love, some are about heartbreak or self-love or platonic love, but they all pair well with pink champagne and popcorn.
