Happy New Year!
2023 was a strange year for me. I started it at the absolute lowest point of my life and spent the first few months getting on medication, starting therapy, and finding the light behind my eyes again.
I also started this newsletter, progressed in my career, and made New York really feel like home. For 2024, I’m predicting more living, laughing, and loving.
While I am setting a few goals for myself this year, I’m mostly making a list of healthy habits I need to adopt. Some of these are no-brainers, but reminding myself that they all take priority in a single day - some every day - is the goal here.
Examples: keeping my bank account full, taking a walk every day, reading 5 books, visiting 3 new places, making 1 new friend, ordering delivery no more than twice a week, and consuming my daily greens.
I recently heard someone warn against treating winter like summer. So what that means for me is I’m trying to not force any extremes, I don’t need plans every weekend, but sometimes a cozy night in includes pasta and wine, and that’s ok!
What I’m watching: Entourage (2004-2011)
My newest obsession. It’s like Sex and the City for boys.
I’ve gotten nothing but horrified reactions from my friends when I tell them I’m watching this, but it’s a perfect low-stakes, 30-minute episode series that’s shot like a prestige television show. Remember Mark Mylod, the guy at the end of every episode of Succession telling you how complicated and choreographed each scene is? He’s a co-executive producer of Entourage and directed over 20 episodes of the show; he puts as much effort into this as well.
Plus it’s a show satirizing douchebags, and who doesn’t love laughing at douchebags?
What I’m wearing: Here’s your reminder to make your mood boards, kids. Fill out your wishlists, and put together your vision boards. You never know what you might be manifesting.
Back in September, I had included this Prada campaign shot (above - third from left) from f/w 1999 featuring their leaf motif, and for Christmas, my boyfriend gifted me a big, pink weekender bag from the very collection.
I’ve always loved this collection and wanted a piece featuring the leaf appliques, but this is way more special than I had imagined. I felt quite fabulous toting it through the airport on my way back to New York.
This collection also created a few very iconic fashion moments, so let’s dive in.
For all the F1 girlies, here’s Kate Moss wearing a mesh breast plate-like corset with matching pants (and shoes!!) from the collection to a race in Monaco in May of 1999, setting the bar to unreachable lengths for every Lewis Hamilton fan even a quarter century later.
Gillian Anderson and Sarah Jessica Parker each rocked the pink foliage dress to separate events. While Gil paired her dress with a sweet silk and grommet evening bag from the same collection, SJP went with a Fendi Baguette, aka the Carrie Bradshaw signature.
And, now, some links: THE coat ($637), leaf shoulder bag ($425), fur crossbody ($311), green leaf boots ($883), multi-color leaf bag ($233), brown leather leaf tote ($460), patent leaf pumps ($320)

What I’m buying: We are officially in nesting season so I am once again investing in home comforts, so I took advantage of the after-Christmas sale cycle and finally upgraded my comforter.
My lot in life is I’m a naturally hot sleeper, so the Buffy Cloud comforter has been on my radar for a while (the name, obviously, caught my attention). It’s made from eucalyptus fibers that somehow make it more breathable and cooling. I don’t know how they do it, but my sleep has been massively improved.
What I’m listening to: My friend Brianna threw a fabulous New Year’s party this year for which I helped with the music arrangements. Not to brag, but we put together a pretty fantastic playlist:
Also I’ve been listening to the nye playlist non stop (not to brag?)
THAT BAG!!!! Snaps for Shane
